Puno and the UROS Islands

About 3000 native Peruvians live on floating islands in the 100 mile by 36 mile Lake Titicaca. They are now visited by tourist groups daily and take the people on their reed boats to see the other islands. This gives them a little money so that they do not have to live on fish and the reeds. Their floating islands are about 2 meters thick and have to be constantly added to to keep them about the water. They are in about 30 meters of water. Incredible.
