We are going through our pictures to pick one to put in the Church News for our new calling. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE PICTURE. REALLY IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF THE CALLING. Ohyes, the calling. We got a call from Elder Clete Mast from the Seventy asking us how long we needed to get ready to go again. He said, can you be ready in 6 months, to which Connie said No I don't think so. He then was very nice and said we could have 6 months or a year and 6 months or 2 years and 6 months. That made us think that we were going one way or the other so we took him seriously. Connie's major concern was grandma Jones. We were so looking forward to being able to be with her again. Elder Mast said he would call the next morning to check on our response. We had a farewell lunch a couple of hours later at a chinese place. Connie got her fortune cookie and this is what it said: PREPARETE PARA ACEPTAR UNA MARAVILLOSA OPORTUNIDAD. (prepare to accept a marvelous opportunity) Well, that was it, the answer in a fortune cookie. The next morning when Elder Mast called, we told him about the fortune cookie. He laughed and then read us a call letter from the First presidency and 12 to serve as the mission president of the Missionary Training Center MTC in Madrid Spain. It is a 2 year calling beginning Jan. 11, 2010. Michael will come home in the end of November and we will try and spend all the time we have home with the various family members and friends. We love you all. WE WILL KEEP LOOKING FOR A SUITABLE PICTURE as IT IS ALL ABOUT THE PICTURE.

I will schedule a photo shoot for the day you get home. That is some crazy news! I am sorry, and congratulations at the same time.
Cort, you are on.
I had no idea you were going out on another mission. Wow, that is exciting! Of course, you guys will be great.
Use the ones from your p-day at the beach..maybe they'll take back the call...hee hee
Wow! That is so amazing! You guys will do great and I sure hope you can squeeze in as much time at home as possible. That's so exciting!
Congrats! I'm sure you'll find the right photo! : ) Glad the October reunion is still on.
We are so happy to hear this more than wonderful news . I think this means that Eddie and I need to start looking for oppertunities to serve in Madrid so that we can once again work side by side with you two (:
We love you so much, and we will be praying for you and grandma jones. I know that everything will work out perfectly.
i am with Jared...picture #4 is money.
Dear Doug and Connie, Just got to your blog, and what a surprise; congratulations! It would have saved you a little time if you had just been born with a spanish tongue, but not much time considering your history with the spanish speaking people. You guys are great, we are so happy just to say we know you.
Love, John and Peggy
Dear Doug & Connie,
Congrats on your new mission call. You will be great! We vote for Connie's picture at the beach and you in the hammock. Very laid back. Hope we will get to see you while you are close to home, or at our half-way house in Nampa. Or, better yet, come see us in Wyoming. This is a special place. We should be home sometime in October.
Love,
Kent & Sue
