Then Dougie saying GO COUGS
Then Dougie saying GO COUGS
With my computer set on it's slingbox setting, resting on my lap and with another computer set on another slingbox on the t.v. monitor, my counselor Richard Merrell (he is his pajamas and me in my blue) settled in to watch BYU and it's freshmen hold on to defeat the Washington Huskies. We were up from l:00 am to 4:35 am in the morning, but it was worth it. I knew most of you were there too and the weather looked hot and wonderful. The crowd was vintage BYU. I could imagine the hot dogs, I could see the people streaming in and I could see the 7 all-american quarterbacks there (Carter, Wilson, McMahan, Detmer, Young, Bosco-- Sarkisian). I was there right in the middle of it in my mind, and with the advantage of t.v. I could study the players as they came into the game and I tried to memorize their numbers. There are a lot of new numbers to memorize. Fall is finally here-my favorite time of the year. I talked to mom in the morning for over an hour and all is good with her as well as here. We have 21 missionaries right now and all leave on Tuesday and Wednesday going to Spain when we get 7 Portuguese, 3 French and 1 North American (going to Portugal, France, Switzerland and Spain). Go Cougs!!

Tom watched the game with us and Kristy and Trevor were here. Tom told us you were up watching the game and we all had a good chuckle picturing that in our minds knowing how excited you must be. We were all enjoying the game together in spirit! Peggy
We thought of you all through the game. While you invisioned the crowd we were invisioning you. Glad they made it worth staying up for!
For some reason this post makes my eyes will up with tears...
It was awesome dad. I loved that you were picturing yourself at the game. (it was SOO hot).
We didn't get to watch the whole game in real time because my niece Leah got baptized (she's 12) at 6:00. But it was about the only thing I would have missed the game for.
Love you guys!
Dad, I was THERE!!! It was exactly as you described, the crowd was so amped up....I got heat stroke in the 1st half, but then the shade reached us. Halftime was great, I saw a little tear in Joey's eye. The end of the game was tense. Then, on the way home I was thinking about you on the other side of the world, and how we were both feeling so happy at the same time.
WE really enjoy following your mission and adventures. We also miss the mission field but life has a way of changing our paths. We just bought a hom ein Meridian, Idaho and are getting settled. Our ward has 170 chidlren in primary, 3 nursies and 2 Elder's quorums. We expect to be put to work soon. Life is good. Hopefully Sharon and I can find away to get to Spain before you leave and visit. Congratulations on your 41st, we hit our 40th in a week of so. Love to you both, Chuck & Sharon
We enjoy reading your adventures and the pictures. You both look great. We have started a new adventure and moved to Meridian, ID. We are now more central to the children. REcieved a very nice email from Jason and will have to respond to his new calling as venture leader. We are in a ward with 170 primary children, 3 nursies and 2 Elders quorums. Very noisy during sacrament but looks to be another adventure. We hope to make a visit to Spain before you leave. Love you both Chuck & Sharon
Awesome post. Family, the church, and BYU football...doesn't get any better. This is the best time of the year.
Go BYU! I love readingyourblog. It is so inspiring.
